ARMORED SAINT/ex-ANTHRAX Frontman Guests On LONG DISTANCE CALLING Album
January 17, 2011German instrumental rockers LONG DISTANCE CALLING have made the brand new track "The Figrin D'an Boogie" available as free download at this location. The song comes off the band's new self-titled album, which will be released on the following dates:
Germany, Austria, Switzerland: February 18
Europe: February 21
Australia/NZ: February 25
North America: March 8
Legendary frontman John Bush (ARMORED SAINT, ANTHRAX) appears as a guest vocalist on the track "Middleville". When asked what made him decide to collaborate with LONG DISTANCE CALLING, he said, "Music. That is the sole reason that I did this song.
"When I was approached by LONG DISTANCE CALLING, instead of seeking information about them, I just listened to the music. I didn't look at a web site or a social network. I didn't inquire about their history. I didn't even look at a picture. I just listened to them. That was all I needed. It inspired me and allowed me to be part of an amazing song. Ambience, power, mood, melody, it has it all. Crank it!! Preferably in headphones."
"Long Distance Calling" was recorded with Benjamin Schäfer (CELTIC FROST, SUBWAY TO SALLY) at Horus Studios in Hannover, Germany.
After supporting bands such as OPETH, KATATONIA, DREDG, AND YOU WILL KNOW US BY TRAIL OF DEAD, ANATHEMA, COHEED AND CAMBRIA, and DEFTONES, LONG DISTANCE CALLING will finally play its own club shows again in order to give people the full audio-visual experience.
